Antisemitism has been persistent in the United States and the State of Washington. Superintendent Reykdal unequivocally condemns antisemitism as defined here:
“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
Antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hate and discrimination are illegal and are subject to investigation and potential legal and personnel actions within federal and state law.
Superintendent Reykdal expanded his civil rights team while in office following the upsurge in hate crimes and discrimination we’ve seen nationwide in the past decade. If re-elected, Superintendent Reykdal will expand this team even further so that all students, educators, and families are protected in schools.
